get around to: (미루던 것을) 하다

 

영화 <The music never stopped>에서 주운 표현입니다. I’ll get around to it.

 

get around to something이라고 하면 to do something that you have been intending to do for some time (한동안 하려고 했던 일을 하다)라는 뜻이랍니다. 그러니까 영화 대사는 “내가 처리할게”라는 뜻이군요.

 

이 표현은 다음 예문과 같이 사용하실 수 있답니다.

 

You need to get around to cleaning your desk.

(네 책상 좀 정리해야지.)

Sorry, I had no time to get around to it.

(미안. 그럴 시간이 없었어.)
