I got into scrapes:

영드 <My Family>에서 주운 표현 소개합니다. I got into scrapes.

 

scrape라고 하면 원래 a mark or slight injury caused by rubbing against a rough surface (살갗 표면이 살짝 긁힌 자국이나 상처, 즉 찰과상)을 의미하는데요....상처가  나는 거니까 안 좋은 상황이겠지요... 그래서 a situation in which you are in trouble or have difficulties (곤란하거나 어려운 상황)을 뜻하기도 한답니다. 그러니까 “나 곤경에 처했어.”란 뜻이군요.

 

예문과 같은 문장도 가능하답니다.

He always get into all sorts of scrapes.

(그는 항상 온갖 종류의 말썽에 휘말리곤 해.)
