Sit tight: 가만히 있어.

영드 <My Family>에서 나온 표현입니다. Sit tight.

 

tight하게 앉으라? 근데 앉아있는 장면이 아니었거든요.^^ 알고 보니 to stay where you are and not move (있는 자리에 머무르고 움직이지 않다), to stay in the same situation, and not change your mind and do anything new (동일한 위치를 고수하다, 마음을 바꾸지 않거나 새로운 것을 하지 않다.)라는 뜻이더군요.

(구조될 때까지 움직이지 말고 가만히 있어.)

Sit tight until the situation improves.

(상황이 나아질 때까지는 그냥 고수하고 있어.)
