Don't drag me into this: 날 이 일에 끌어들이지 마.

영드 <My Family>에서 주운 표현입니다.

 

drag가 왜 우리 마우스도 drag한다고 하듯이 ‘끌다’라는 뜻인데요. Dragn into라고 하면 to make someone get involved in an argument, war, or other unpleasant situation that they do not want to be involved in (연루되기를 원하지 않는 논쟁이나 전쟁 등의 유쾌하지 않은 상황에 끌어들이다) 라는 뜻이랍니다. 참, to talk about something when you are having a discussion or argument, even though it is not connected with it (논쟁 중에 상관 없는 일에 대해 이야기하다) 라는 뜻도 되구요.

 

예문 보시면 더 쉬울 것 같네요.

 

It is your busienss. You must not drag others into the mess.

(그건 어디까지나 네 문제야. 다른 사람까지 그런 엉망인 상황 속으로 끌어들여선 안 돼.)

Never drag my ex-girlfriend into everything.

(모든 일에 대해 내 전 여자친구 좀 들먹이지 말라구!)
