Point any fingers: 비난하다

 

미드 <Fraiser>에서 주운 표현입니다. There is none who can point any fingers.

 

point the/a finger at somebody 라고 하면 to blame someone or say that they have done something wrong (뭔가를 잘못했다고 이야기하거나 비난하다)입니다. 그러니까 “여기 비난할 자격 있는 사람은 아무도 없어.”라고 해석할 수 있겠네요....

 

다음 예문처럼 사용하실 수 있답니다.

I don’t like to point a finger at anyone.

(다른 누군가를 비난하고 싶은 생각은 없어.)

The next-door neighbours are pointing the finger at him.

(옆집 이웃들이 그에 대해서 나무라고 있다.)
