소설에서 주운 표현입니다. Take the weight off and have a seat.

 

take the weight off your feet는 말 그대로 하면 발에서 무게를 빼라는 건데요....used to tell someone to sit down(상대에게 앉으라고 이야기할 때 사용되는 표현)이 된답니다. 즉, 소설 속 말은 “일단 좀 앉아 보게나.”라는 뜻이군요.

 

이제 sit down, take/have a seat, please be seated 대신에 이런 표현도 써 보세요.
