cha-ching: 돈 벌었네~

호주 대형마트 중 Big W라는 곳이 있습니다. 거길 갈 때마다 곳곳에 'Cha-Ching'이라는 문구가 있어서 궁금해하고는 했답니다. 오늘 드디어 서치 들어갑니다. ^^

Cha-ching이라고 하면 The sound that a cash register makes when its drawer is closed after money has been put inside. Used in conversation to indicate that the person being spoken about is going to or already has made quite a profit at little expense (현금 등록기에 돈 들어가고 나서 닫힐 때 나는 소리로 누군가가 적은 비용으로 큰 이익을 창출했다고 이야기할 때 쓰는 표현)이랍니다. 꼭 금전적인 이익이 아니어도, '횡재했네' 이런 어감으로 사용할 수도 있구요.

His new business will go cha-ching.

What a great deal! Cha-ching!!

(잘 샀네. 돈 벌었네!)
